Flagpoles
Believe it or not, the creation of flagpoles is considered an art, as is anything else. These poles-a very important part of the flag-are designed for placing flags on different areas of either residential or commercial property.
Different Styles Of Flagpoles
A basic flagpole usually has a rounded top. It is often made from materials such as steel, brass, hard plastic, or other durable materials.
This basic flag pole might sit above ground, anchored into a round cement base or it might possibly run underground, held up by the earth itself. Other flagpoles are meant to be propped up at an angle on the side of a home or building.
Alternative flagpoles are similar to the ones described above. The biggest difference is that an engraved image might sit at the top of the flagpole.
For instance, a large number of poles used for patriotic flags might have an animal such as an eagle on the tip. Others might possibly be lighted, and the light might sit on the top of the flag (fire precautions might need to be taken, however).
Tips (or heads) of other flagpoles could possibly be created from crystal, diamond, or faux diamond. These generally speaking would be reserved for fairly tall poles-ones that would be so tall that it would be hard to steal the gems off of the top of them.
Other Variations Of The Flagpole
Some flagpoles are more state-of-the art (or at least by some people’s standards). For instance, a special type of pole on which a flag might be placed is one that rotates. These rotating flagpoles help allow the flying banner to be seen as the wind changes directions.
Other flagpoles might have accessories such as flag clips included with them. These clips are meant to help hold a flag in place so they do not get entangled in the wind.
Another main version of the flagpole is the one that might be placed in a backyard garden or front yard landscape scene. The tops of these flagpoles are often very unique-representative of different floral designs, lanterns, bird feeders, or other outdoor symbol.
In fact, some of the tops of these garden flags might actually serve a real purpose, such as that of feeding birds. Likewise, a garden flag that would be placed somewhere on the front lawn of a home might have a top which displays the address of a residence or business.
Either that or the name of the persons living in the home or the name of the business might be engraved onto the sign which is attached to the top of a flag pole. There is no end to the type of flagpoles that can be placed outdoors.
Additional Flag Pole And Flag Pole Accessories
Often times a car radio antenna acts as a flagpole, and flagpoles often double as antennas. Other poles for flags or banners are created for using on a motorcycle or other small vehicle.
Some of these are more portable while others are meant to be stationary. It is also possible to find flag poles for placing banners or flags indoors as well.
